Ryan had Monday off so we went to Burgess Falls. We decided last time we went that the boys were probably ready to hike down to the bottom of the falls, so that's what we did! (Click
HERE to see the post from our last visit to Burgess falls.) Ryan carried Mercy in the hiking carrier. She did great; only getting a little fussy when the water from the waterfall blew on her. First, we hiked down to the top of the waterfall. It was beautiful and I felt safe at the top...much safer then at the top of White Water Falls. The boys really liked it! Josiah collected shells at the top and then handed them out to kids at the playground after our hike. We hiked down metal stairs alongside the falls and then reached a narrow path. We walked a little ways, but then the trail became muddy and part rock...which meant slimy, slippery rocks...not the easiest trail to walk on with little people (or myself). The boys wanted to keep going, so we did. It was nerve-racking at times, well, most of the time, to me...while Ryan enjoyed the adventure and the boys doing hard, adventurous things. Josiah was actually helping me some. We eventually decided to turn around and headed back up to the top of the falls. We had a snack and then headed back.
