We have moved!

After all the work of getting the new place together, we have moved!! Of course, there are boxes everwhere in our house, and not much is organized. It is great to be here, though! We moved most of our stuff this past Saturday. We had lots of issues come up during the move, such as the truck not working quite right (power steering, or something like that), and the frig not fitting...yikes..which we finally got to fit! Ryan just got the washer and dryer moved over today and is going to get the rest of our food this evening. Here are some pictures:

Our last night in the rental house!

cheap labor!

The floors and carpet go down today and tomorrow. We found some cheap labor to get the job done!:)

Unfortunately, the little one likes to sleep on the job!

Aedan's room (for now)

For Aedan's room, I'm keeping the same colors that the boys currently have...the lime green and blues. I figured we have lots of stuff to match it already, so we won't have to buy new stuff. (The dresser, curtains, and rug we have will match.) We did all the walls white, except for the window wall. That way, Aedan will have a little color, and it can be easily changed later if needed. Below are some before and after pics.

Before: dirty white with a beautiful duck border. (Actually, there was a Titans border on top of that, too.)

The green and white walls finished!:)

"I like blue room"

We finished the boys' room yesterday!! Josiah's room (and within the next year, Aedan's too) has 3 walls that are blue, and one wall with colored squares (blue, light blue, brown, and orange). It turned out really well. We took Josiah in the room the other night, and he seemed to like it a lot. Yesterday on way back from the park, I was asking him about the room, and he said, "I like blue room." Below are some before and after pictures.

Josiah's room before. As you can see it's (surprise) yellow!...much like the whole house before.

Ryan taped the squares. He did an excellent job!

My troopers!

Many nights this past month, especially in the past couple weeks, Josiah and Aedan have been our troopers!! We've been putting them down to sleep at the house in order to work, and then bringing them back to the rental house to sleep the rest of the night. They've done really well. Here is a picture of them sleeping in their carseats! After this weekend, they won't have to do this any longer!:)

3 down, 2 to go!

We just finished the painting on our bedroom yesterday, and have now moved onto the boys' rooms. Things are looking good, and progressing. This bedroom will be the largest bedroom that Ryan and I have had since we've been married, and also that biggest closet!:) I think the room is about 12 x 16 1/2. Most of our previous bedrooms have been about 12 x 12. I think our bedroom in our last house was 12 x 13. It'll be nice to have the extra space. Here are some pictures of our room before, in progress, and finished (except for the new carpet in, of course). We realize that we're producing a very colorful house...we LOVE color on walls:) I guess it's what you get when two people who love color (and trading spaces) live in a rental for a year and a half and are unable to paint.

This is our bedroom before. I'm not sure what these people did to produce such a yucky carpet. They must have gone to bed with dirty feet...I hate to see their sheets...yikes!

The walls are taped, and ready to paint. Check out Ryan in the window.

Color going up!

30 minutes of entertainment

A couple days ago, we had a visitor in our window. No, it's not a cockroach, but some type of big beetle looking bug. (Or, maybe there's a species of cockroaches that I don't know about.) The bug was stuck in between the windows, and provided about 30 minutes of entertainment! (Yay!) When Josiah saw it, he went to go get one of Ryan's shoes to kill it...haha! Aedan continually tried to touch it, while Josiah was weary of getting too close. Anytime another bug wants to get stuck in our windows and provide entertainment, they are more then welcome to visit!

A upclose picture that ended up blurry!

There it is!

Living Room/Play Area Work

We've continued working on the house this past week. Here are some pictures of the living room, and also the play area (it's actually another dining area, but it's where the toys will go).

Big Boy Josiah

September 2007

September 2008

I took this picture recently and realized that I had a picture very similar to it when Josiah was younger. It turns out these pictures are a year apart. Josiah has grown a lot in the past year. He is talking more and more everyday, and his understanding of things is greater. He still loves to laugh, and to be outside. He loves going places and seeing friends at church. I'm not sure what I'll do in the winter, when it will be too cold to be outside. We may make weekly trips to Chick-fil-a in the morning, so the boys can get out of the house and play on their indoor playground.

Funny Josiah Story: Over the past two weeks, there have been a few times when Josiah has refused to nap. Well, the other day, my friend, Melissa, and her baby, Isaac (3 months old) came over during the boys' naptime so we could hang out and talk. Of course, Josiah refused to fall asleep. I just let him hang out in the back, hoping that he'd eventually fall alseep. Well, he never did, and when I went to go get him, I found him completely naked! I saw him and just walked out of the room to get the camara. I was trying not to laugh, and sternly told him not to do that again. Thankfully, there were no accidents in the bed. (haha!) It was one of those moments that I wanted to laugh at him, but couldn't.:)
