A birthday game (Game 4)

Aedan had a game on his birthday!  He did really well.  He and the first baseman were able to connect for an out during the game, and he also had some good stops!  Aedan also hit well.  His team won 19-16!  After seeing one of the coaches on the other team last night, I am very thankful for our coaches and the team that Aedan ended up on.  There was one coach (from the other team) who was getting SOOOOOO angry and he was super intense.  He was acting like it was the world series or something.  Good grief.  He was yelling in one kid's face.  I am assuming it was his own son, but still.  And, when this particular kid went up to bat he said, " (insert kid's name), YOU BETTER HIT THE BALL!"  I put it in all caps because he was screaming.  Even our coach's wife thought the guy was screaming too much.  Anyway, fun night.  And winning is fun, of course.  Here's Aedan hitting the ball.  Videos and pictures can be difficult sometimes because of the fence in the way, but I did my best.  I'm sure I'll get better at it, though.  Aedan's coach is the one there with Aedan as he starts (at home plate).
Go Braves!!

Aedan turns 5!

Aedan turns 5!  Wow!  I can't believe it!  His birthday fell on a Thursday so I had CBS that morning.  Ryan stayed home with Aedan and Mercy.  The original plan was for me to take Mercy with me, but she was (and still is a little) sick.  On Wednesday she fell asleep at 9:30 in the morning, and then again at noon.  Poor girl!  So, I couldn't bring her with me:(  I left CBS early and met Ryan and the kids at Chili's for lunch.  (Aedan's choice)  Mercy was feeling overall better, so Ryan thought she could handle going out for a bit.  After lunch, Ryan took Aedan bowling.  I took Mercy home and put her down for a nap.  (I enjoyed a quiet time reading about and listening to Andrew Peterson's new album, which came that day.)  After picking Josiah up from school, the boys ate a little snack, and then we headed to Aedan's baseball game.  (see next post)  After the game, we took the boys to McDonalds.  They enjoyed chicken nuggets and fries, and playing, of course.  We went home after dinner to open presents and to eat some cake and ice cream.  I think he had a good day:)

His last night of being 4:(  I cannot stop time.

Mercy likes the seat, too.  She has a few years till she gets a new seat:)

Happy Birthday, Aedan.  We love you!

Aedan's birthday party

We had Aedan's birthday party on Sunday.  It was a busy weekend with a (stay at home) retreat for the teenagers, and with Aedan's party after it was all over.  Aedan was excited and looking forward to it all morning and for days!  He is on a countdown till his birthday, and was happy to have a party before the actual day!  Here are some pictures:
