1st field trip~

Josiah had his first field trip to the pumpkin patch!!  A neighbor of ours has a daughter in Josiah's class, so she sent me this picture of him!  He had a great time in corn mazes, petting animals at the petting zoo, riding on a tractor ride, picking out a pumpkin and of course, riding a school bus!  (Yes, I picked out a shirt that wouldn't clash with pumpkins just in case pictures were taken!)

Consignment Sale!

So here's the lowdown of my consignment sale finds this past Tuesday night.  I love this consignment sale, and I love that my friend, Cathy, hooked me up with a guest pass.  With the guest pass I was able to get in early and shop!  (major chaos!!!!)  (This post is mainly to show my mom some of the things that I got, and of course, anyone else who is interested:)

Here's what I got:
~5 pairs of athletic/comfy pants for Josiah
~1 pair of jeans (size 7-the next size he'll be in. They are old navy adjustible waist)
~one pair of pajama pants for Josiah
~1 short sleeved polo shirt for Josiah
~1 long sleeved t shirt for Josiah
~size 12 soccer cleats for Aedan...for the spring ($3.00)
~brown dress shoes for Aedan ($3.00)
~ size 7 shoes for Mercy...for later....they are soooo cute....pink and green and strappy
~a pottery barn VERY cute decoration for Mercy's room...it is sooooo cool and perfect for her room
~2 picture frames (11x14 matted to fit a 8x10) they are matching
~two huge dinosaurs (stuffed animals) they are BIG and identical...saving for Christmas!!
~a tea serving set for Mercy....never been opened
~two brown hair bows for Mercy
~a decorative pillow for Mercy's room

I got all of this for $57.50, just a few dollars under my $60 budget (the returned money from our soccer deposit). wooooohooooo!
Here's the cool mobile decoration for Mercy's room!  This is so awesome and matches her room great.  I saw this through the window when I was waiting in line to get in and went straight for it when they let us in!

Here's the little pink and green shoes for Mercy.  They are a little worn on the top of the toe, but I couldn't resist these.  They are so cute...a size 7, so a little big for her.  They should fit her at some point.  Mercy is already a shoe girl.  She loves putting on shoes and trying different ones on.  She saw these this morning and brought them to me to help her put them on.

Here are the shoes for Aedan.  Both of these shoes didn't look worn out at all!  I was so glad to find the soccer cleats because he'll need them for the spring.  Since soccer cleats cost about $20, we saved $17!  wooohoooo!

Lastly, the pillow!!!

Tomahawk Trot

Josiah's Tomahawk Trot was this morning at school!  Josiah had his sponsors and was ready to run!  He did SOOOOO well!!  He just kept running and running.  I saw him walking a couple times, but for the most part he ran!  He did so well, that he was one of the top runners in his class.  (He ran the most laps.)  Prizes were given to the top boy and top girl in each class.  He got a glow pen, a "crazy" triangle game, and a $10 gift card to one of the yogurt shops in town.  YUMMY!  Here are some pictures of the morning:

This is toward the beginning

this one is toward the end of the run

Josiah's class with the mascot.  (I'm not quite sure who the mascot is...I will say that he ran the whole time barefoot...impressive.)
We went to Mae Pearls (the yogurt place) tonight after dinner.  With Josiah's gift card we all got yogurt for 14 cents!

Soccer Saturday

The boys both had back to back games on Saturday morning~4 games total.  Ryan coached three of the games.  He had to run to Josiah's game, so a couple of the dads from Aedan's team stepped in to help coach Aedan's team.  It was a nice morning after a week of rain and clouds~hurricane leftovers.  We desperately needed the rain, so several days of rain was great!  I was, however, glad to see the sunshine on Friday!  It was fun to watch the games.  Aedan did fabulously!  He scored at least 7 goals in the first game and 13 in the second!  20 total!!!  FUN! FUN!

quick Aedan video~one of his many goals

after the games

Josiah is in the next age division up from Aedan.  It is harder and (much) more competitive than Aedan's division.  Last time they had a game, his team struggled with being aggressive and actually going after the ball.  They turned it around this week, and did MUCH, MUCH better!!  Ryan was a little worried after that first game, but there was improvement!  Yay!!  Josiah scored 3 goals on Saturday!  Yay!!!  Go Josiah!!!

Here's a video of Josiah scoring his final goal.  It's from a distance, so it may be a little hard to see.

my chair

Mercy loves little chairs!  Here she is on my little rocking chair that I had as a little (baby) girl.  It is an OLD chair, and a sturdy one for lasting about 33 years!!!

back to waterloo

We went back to Waterloo on Saturday so Josiah could see the falls.  This place is awesome and beautiful!!  It should be great next summer when Mercy is a little older and can play in the water more easily (without trying to drown).  I can't believe that we haven't been here before now with the kids.  We'll be getting water shoes for all the kids next summer and coming here for sure!!!

Josiah LOVED it!  I think he could play here for hours and be entertained, and they didn't even get in the water.

Along the rock there are small waterfalls, which would probably be bigger not not for the little drought we've had in the area.

Checking out the falls

My little adventurer!  Yes, this makes me a little nervous.

Ryan with Josiah.  Yes, I was still a little nervous.  Glad Ryan was with him to hold his hand.:)
