Happy Birthday Aedan!

Two years ago today Aedan was born! These past two years have flown by! I cannot believe that he is two! Aedan is such a sweetie, and I'm so glad that he's our son. He is a brave little man...not afraid to jump of a diving board, go under water, go down high slides, climb a rock wall, and to do whatever Josiah is doing. Aedan loves dinosaurs (too), and also Diego. He's much more attached to me at this age then Josiah at two. He's in the mischievous stage...always trying to get into what he's not supposed to...like on the computer, in my purse, etc. He is such a fun person to be around. His favorite things include his mama, his cup, his blanket, stickers, and dinosaurs. I am so thankful he's in our life.

I was going through some of our old pictures; trying to find one for this post. At the time of Aedan's birth we had a different camara, and then got a new one right after. The hospital pictures are in a different program then what I currently use. I found a video from Aedan's birth...and I had completely forgotten that we had it:) What a great husband I have to take a video right after birth!!! Enjoy:

Potty Breakthroughs

About three weeks ago, I decided to put Josiah in big boy underwear. I told him that he needed to keep his dinosaur underwear dry. He was so exicted about his dino underwear. The first day I think he wet them twice, but since then, he has been doing great! Of course, he's had a couple accidents here and there, but is really doing awesome! We are proud of him! He tells us when he needs to go and everything! Go Josiah!! I guess he was just getting lazy with his pull ups...knowing that the pee wouldn't go everywhere!

Here's Josiah in some of his big boy underwear!!!

Weekend activities

On Friday morning we went to Burgess Falls. We love coming here because the boys get a good walk on the way to the waterfall, and then they ride in the double jogger on the way back. They love seeing the waterfall and playing on the playground when we're through with the walk. They usually do really well:)

On Saturday, we went to the pool. I took the boys to the pool by myself earlier this week, but I definitely enjoy having Ryan with me and the boys. They did soooooo well. Last time I was at the pool, I decided to switch Aedan's floatations...and he is so much sturdier in the water. He is able to balance a lot better. (and I am less stressed!) They loved jumping off the side of the pool. It is fun to watch them try new things everytime we go to the pool. Aedan went off the diving board!!! Well, I dropped him down to Ryan who was waiting to catch him in the water. Aedan also went underwater several times. After watching me, he wanted to try it. I'm not sure how much he liked it, but he wanted to do it more then once. He is brave!
Jumping time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Russells and Retreat

Our friends, the Russells, came into town last Monday evening! Ryan and I met Ryan and Christie while we were in Wake Forest. They have three kids: Caedmon, Athan, and Holland. Josiah LOVED having the company, and has been talking about them since they left this past Sunday. We had our summer retreat last week and Ryan Russell did the teaching. Christie and I took the kids along with us to the camp, which was just about 25 minutes away. Even though it was hard at times to keep the kids happy and entertained, we had fun together...making it through the days:)

Bedtime Bible reading time...Ryan and the kids:)

Christie and I met up with Rachael and her kids at the pool. Check out this pool party!!!

Christie and I went to pilates on Wednesday.

We also went to Walmart on Wednesday. The Nestle Quick Bunny was there!!! The kids (except Holland)loved the bunny. We also got free ice cream and also free T shirts for the kids:)

Here's Josiah with the girls at the camp:)

The camp had some playground equipment, which came in very handy for us!

Randall and Aedan
Randall is one of our teenagers, and he is so great with the kids...they loved pretending to be dinosaurs with him.

There was a pool at the camp, and the water was so cold!!! It took Joisah a while to actually get it, but once he did he was fine.

Christie and Holland

All the kids at the pool:) Christie was entertaining them!

On Thursday night, Christie and I came back to Cookeville and went to McDonalds. The main purpose in coming back was to bathe them since they were super dirty. I'm glad we made the choice to do this:) This is a great shot of Christie and her kids...all looking at the camara and smiling:)
