It's "Potty Time" in the McGann house!! We FINALLY started potty training Josiah. I figure that I have put it off long enough (maybe too long). I started yesterday. Initially, I had wanted to begin on a weekend, so Ryan and I could do it together, but there really is no good weekend. Since it's so cold outside, I haven't been going out much during the day anyway, so I decided to go ahead with it. I have been (so far) using a method that my friend, Christie, uses with her children. We'll see how it goes....I think her children are more complient then Josiah. On Monday, Josiah went pee on the potty one time. He would continually pee in his pull up. I don't think he understood the concept of being wet. I decided to try a suggestion from my friend, Cathy. (love my friends!) With her boys, she used plastic underwear over a regular pair to help leakage, and so they could recognize the wettness. It seems to help Josiah understand when he is wet. Today, Josiah went pee on the potty five times!!! Yay!! Much improvement over yesterday! Hopefully, tomorrow will be even a better day as Josiah continues to practice and get the hang of it. He's still not telling us when he needs to go. We just have to kind of guess...and hope he'll be able to hold it when needed (which didn't happen much today, I don't think).
One of Josiah's rewards is to watch a Veggietales!
