Live Nativity

This past Friday night we went to a Live Nativity. It is done by many people from our church. It was sooooo cold outside; in the low 20's. There were kids singing, and of course the nativity scene. Josiah loved looking at all the animals: camals, a baby camal, donkey, a baby cow, and REINDEER!!!

Our family with reindeer behind us!!!

Potty Update #2

Thursday (Day 4)- Josiah peed in the potty 9 times. Still no poopy in the potty...and, he's still not telling us when he needs to go.

Friday (Day 5)- Josiah began telling us when he needed to go, or at least heading to the bathroom door. He only had one accident in the morning. We went out to a church function, and he didn't have an accident at all...he waited until we got home!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! He really had a great day. (still no poopy, though)

Saturday (Day 6) (so far)- Still no poopy in the potty (still going in pull up)....no pee accidents...telling us when he needs to go!!! Yay!!!

Potty Update

Josiah went pee on the potty 5 times again today. He's still having accidents, and doesn't tell us when he needs to go. It's still a guessing game. Maybe tomorrow will be better. We'll see...

Boz Prayer

Josiah likes Boz, which is like a Christian Barney...a big green bear. At the end of every episode, Boz says a prayer. Josiah has learned it and says it everyday:

Thank you, God, as this day ends, for my family and my friends. Taking time to sit and pray: Thank you, God for this GREAT day!

I've been wanting to put up a video for a while, but couldn't figure it out in the past. Unfortunately, this video is sideways, and I'm not sure how to fix it, or if it is even fixable. Next time, it won't be sideways! Almost forgot, he's shirtless because we were eating spaghetti:) Enjoy!

Potty Time!

It's "Potty Time" in the McGann house!! We FINALLY started potty training Josiah. I figure that I have put it off long enough (maybe too long). I started yesterday. Initially, I had wanted to begin on a weekend, so Ryan and I could do it together, but there really is no good weekend. Since it's so cold outside, I haven't been going out much during the day anyway, so I decided to go ahead with it. I have been (so far) using a method that my friend, Christie, uses with her children. We'll see how it goes....I think her children are more complient then Josiah. On Monday, Josiah went pee on the potty one time. He would continually pee in his pull up. I don't think he understood the concept of being wet. I decided to try a suggestion from my friend, Cathy. (love my friends!) With her boys, she used plastic underwear over a regular pair to help leakage, and so they could recognize the wettness. It seems to help Josiah understand when he is wet. Today, Josiah went pee on the potty five times!!! Yay!! Much improvement over yesterday! Hopefully, tomorrow will be even a better day as Josiah continues to practice and get the hang of it. He's still not telling us when he needs to go. We just have to kind of guess...and hope he'll be able to hold it when needed (which didn't happen much today, I don't think).

One of Josiah's rewards is to watch a Veggietales!

Sunday Visitors

Our friends, Chris and Cathy, came through Cookeville this past Sunday! Chris is from Tennessee, so they were traveling back from visiting family over Thanksgiving. Chris and Cathy were in our college life group in Clemson. Ryan married them about 2 1/2 years ago. It was such a treat to see them and hang out for a few hours before their drive back to Richmond. Thanks for coming!!!
