Once again, we have had more rain here. We had a few clear days earlier in the week, but by Friday it was time for more rain! I think they were pretty desperate for these games to happen (4 on Friday). The fields were muddy! Our game was first, but I am sure they got worse as each game went along. Well, we got there and waited, and waited some more for the other team to show up. It was way past 5:10 and they only had 6 players. Technically, we could have made them forfeit. It may seem like, well, we have 12 players and they have 6 so we should beat them easily. But, not when the other team has their best 5 players there, and only one "hole" in their line-up. Also, they postitioned their players further back from the front-line, closer to the baselines. AND, they had no little ones bobbling, falling on, or fighting over balls, which tends to happen in t-ball games. Even Brandon (Aedan's coach) was hesititant to play, but went ahead and decided to play anyway. (Not sure he'd do that again! hahahaha!) We batted first and got 5 runs. Not too bad with the max you can score per inning being 7. Next, they scored 2 runs. For the second inning, we scored NOTHING! Completely not like the Braves! We had base-running mistakes and some other things not go our way. Since we started the game late, we were only going to play 2 innings, so we had to play some defense to win. The Braves pulled it through and ended up winning 5-3. Honestly, the whole thing seemed a little fishy to me. How is it that only his top 5 (with the excpetion of one) players ONLY showed up? Maybe it was completely innocent, maybe not. I guess it doesn't really matter, though. (Oh, and this team overall is a decent team. They had only lost 2 games before playing us.)
