Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11
(WARNING: IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH...SICKNESS IS MENTIONED IN THIS POST!)
Our (offical) Christmas celebrations began on December 24th. The day started out a little funky with Josiah feeling bad. He laid in the bathroom for a while until he threw up and then felt a little better. He seemed to be getting back to normal and then even ate some of our lunch. I made a turkey along with two casseroles, extra green beans for the non casserole eaters, and rolls. I cooked the turkey in a turkey bag seasoned with cut up celery, apples, and onion (for floavoring.) I made Sherry's FABULOUS loaded baked potato casserole, and also a green bean casserole.

As the day went along, Josiah seemed to be feeling bad again. He was tired, but didn't have a fever. We decided it was best for the kids to stay home from the candlelight service at church. Ryan was going to take just Aedan, but then decided against it at the last minute. I bathed the kids and snapped a few pictures in their Christmas jammies. They wore these last year! (Except Mercy's is new...I bought the size up last year for this year.)
Just for fun:

We did our proclamation ornament for the day when Ryan got home. As the kids were headed to bed, Josiah threw up in his bed. (Yeah, glad we didn't head to the service that night...still sick.) Thankfully, it was all bed-contained so Ryan and I put the yucky bedding in the wash and new sheets and stuff on the bed. Josiah got sick again around 11:00 when we were about to go to bed. Once again, we changed the yuck out, and hoped there would be no more sickness.
That night Mercy cried a little, but nothing super abnormal. Maybe a little more crying out then usual. When I went in her room in the morning, what did I find? Sweet Mercy Cate sleeping next to a pile of throw up! Poor girl! I felt horrible, but there was really no way I could've known. The yuck was all in her hair...yes, matted into it in some places. Poor thing! Ryan was in the boys' bedroom with the boys waiting on me, so I told them that I was going to bathe Mercy. They waited patiently, and finally I was done! Time for presents!!
As you look at these pictures, the kids don't really look sick! They enjoyed Christmas! Josiah and Mercy both never got sick again that day. They both had a weak appetite throughout the day, and seemed pretty normal for the most part. Needless to say, Ryan was the only one that went to church on Christmas morning. The night before, Ryan and I had planned that he would just take Aedan, but when Mercy got sick as well, we felt like we shouldn't take Aedan in case he got the bug next.
Okay, so here are the long awaited pictures~ I wasn't going to mention the sickness, but, hey...it was a part of our Christmas this year:)
