When we were in Florida, we were able to see a shuttle launch! Of course, the downside to that was that we didn't get to see Uncle Bimbo while we were down there since he was on location in case an emergency landing was needed. The shuttle was supposed to go off the night we got into town at 1:36 am. It was postponed, though, due to weather. The next night, there was a fueling problem. I can't remember why it didn't go off Thursday night. Finally, the shuttle went off Friday night...yay! It was neat to see a night launch. The neat thing about it (to me) was just how it lit up the sky as it launched. It was around midnight that went off, and then all of a sudden the sky was lit, and it was like dusk outside. People cheered from the beach, as Ryan and I stood on the balcony of the condo. "We're gonna see a rocket...blast through the last of the atmosphere!" (as AP would say:)
