We celebrated Easter for several days in our house. Our church puts on a Passion Play (aka "Jesus Shall Reign"), so we have been busy! We did a performance Friday and Saturday night, and will do three more this coming weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). (pictures coming soon) On Thursday night, I made us our Easter dinner: ham, mashed potato casserole, and rolls. It was soooo good and has lasted us through the weekend, and all the way to Monday night! (Not to mention I got the ham at a GREAT price from Aldi.) I also made a Ressurection Cake. (I was busy in the kitchen on Thursday!!!) Each layer of the cake stands for something different. Here are the layers and their meanings:
Chocolate cake: our sin
Red (or pink) icing: stands for Christ's blood
Plain yellow cake: stands for Christ's ressurected body
Green icing: stands for spiritual growth in Christ
Blue cake: Stands for the Holy Spirit and that He is always with us
Yellow icing: Stands for heaven...one day we will be with Him forever
