the fall campout

So the boys FINALLY camped out!!!  woohoo!  The camped the first Friday of fall break.  The boys were soooo pumped and super excited!  They had been looking forward to camping for a LONG time.  They had a good night, despite the rain at about 3:00 in the morning.  It's a good thing they were on air mattresses, otherwise, the ground would have been completely wet underneith them.  They did great the next day, and were able to function MUCH better then the last time they camped.  Here are some pictures:

A little more baseball:)

Baseball season has come to an end.  The season itself is just 6 weeks, but it is nonstop baseball!  I think my last post was on Game 7, so I have a bunch of videos from Games 8-12!  Aedan really had a great season.  The team finished only loosing two games, with one tie.  So, 9-2 with a tie.  Pretty good!  Here are some videos of the rest of the season:

Aedan at first.  This was a late game, and it got a little chilly!

This last week of baseball was an exciting one.  We had three games this week, with one being a make-up because of rain.  They played the Indians Monday and won.  But, Tuesday they had to play the Riverbandits.  (Riverbandits are the team that beat us once, and the team they also tied with.)  Unfortunately, they lost the Tuesday game.  It wasn't really close, either.  Aedan played great, though.  There were several balls hit to him, and he got all of them.  One of them was really good, too, where he had to lean over onto the ground.  He got three outs throwing the ball to first.

On Thursday, I wasn't sure what would happen.  When we only scored 4 runs in the first inning, I was thinking that we probably wouldn't win.  After the first inning, we had 4 and they had 7 (7 being the max you can score per inning.)  During the second inning, each team scored 7, so they were still ahead.  We scored 7 at the beginning of the 3rd inning, so after that, it was just a matter of defense.  We got three quick outs, all at first, with the pitcher throwing to first.  GREAT throws and GREAT catches!  The pitcher has a HARD job!  I was so happy for our pitcher, and the whole team, of course!  It was so awesome to win!  It felt like when Clemson finally beat FSU after loosing to them.  (Not recently.  hahaha!  But, years ago.)  It was a FABULOUS way to end the season!  Here are some pictures after the win:

Tomahawk Trot

The Tomahawk Trot was last Friday.  Ryan, Aedan, Mercy, and I went up to the school to cheer on Josiah!  Josiah did great!  He is a great runner!  He ran a total of 2.4 miles!  wooohooo!  He ran the entire time!  Ryan and Aedan ran with him at the end of the race for added encouragement.  Josiah was (again) the top runner in his class, running 12 laps.  (Last year they doubled the laps, so last year he ran "20", but actually 10.)  We are so proud of our runner!  Go Josiah!!!!!

Looking good!

An intense picture!  Toward the end of the run.

Just for fun: Josiah from last year's run!  He looks so much more grown up now!

Loving it!

After the race Josiah said, "I love the Tomahawk Trot!"

Wacky/Tacky Wednesday!

Today is Wacky/Tacky day!  Here is Josiah!!!!  Outfit and all!!!  Today is also the first day he has worn long pants to school.  (On a side note, I got these particular pants for FREE at a consignment sale.  Yes, actually FREE!)  It's finally starting to cool off a little!  Time for a scarf!

Aedan around the house...

Aedan has been rotating between 3 outfits when we're at home.  His first outfit is his titans jersey, shorts, and long navy blue socks (sometimes over his soccer shin guards).  His second is his cubs jersey, with his baseball helmet, and some shorts.  Last, he wears his Clemson football outfit.  He changes them sometimes throughout the day.  Today, in particular, he started out in his Clemson outfit and then switched to his Titans gear.  hahaha!!!!

Sporting his Titans outfit:)

ready to throw!
Yes, there is a football game in the background.  It is a repeat of the Alabama/Arkansas game.

In other big news with Aedan, is that he has started his reading book!  We usually do it together while Mercy naps.  I think we are on about Lesson 8!  :)  Only 92 more to go!  (with plenty of time) yay!

Josiah's chapter book

A couple days ago, Josiah (completely on his own) decided to write his own chapter book.  Yes, his own chapter book.  The first chapter was on sharks, the second was on lions, the third on wolves, and the fourth (and final) chapter was on whales.  He was very excited about his nonfiction writings!  He even took it to school the next day.  Miss Sellers let him read it to the class:)  Josiah said that when he finished a lot of his classmates were saying that they wanted to write chapter books, too!  Go Josiah!  He is starting a new trend in the 1st grade:  write your own chapter book!  Woot! Woot!

Working on his chapter book!

With his final product:)
