Aedan's accident
Made with love (and drool)
This past Thursday I turned 32. The boys helped me make a birthday cake (including decorating the top). They helped me organize the ingredients, and counted the eggs; making sure I put the right amount in. Mainly, though, they helped with the mixing and then delighted in each licking a beater. In the picture below, they are about to help with adding sprinkles to the top. You can see the excitement on their faces:)

Ryan, Josiah, and Aedan putting sprinkles on top.
There Aedan goes putting his fingers in his mouth in between sprinkle applications. At one point, Aedan actually did drool onto the cake, but I didn't catch it on camara.
For over a year now, I have been wanting some type of storage bench or something to put all of our shoes in. If you've been to our house, then you know that there is always a mess of shoes when you walk in the door. It has been driving me absolutely CRAZY. I have been looking on the internet now for weeks (and even longer then that), knowing that I was going to spend birthday money on one. I thought I found one at Target a long time ago, but recently discovered they no longer had it. I've been comparing prices and reading reviews...and have been trying to find what I want.
Ryan and I went out to Olive Garden for dinner Thursday night. (I crave their food right now:) Next, we headed to TJ Max to look around. Needless to say, some of my SANITY has been restored. We found a bench and it was pretty much what I wanted....yay!!! I no longer have to look at the pile of shoes in our house! I look at our bench, and love it...I am sooooooooooo glad to have it:) Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday money! We had a great dinner, and I found a bench for our shoes! I still have some more money leftover, and plan to spend it on some nursing things (clothes) I need for the baby...and maybe a haircut next month as well. Thanks!

Snow again...
Yesterday I took the boys outside to play. (Getting them all bundled up and taking them out is a chore, but I figure...maybe this is the last snow we'll see this season?) We were out for about 45 minutes. Josiah just sled down the hill once and then wanted to go play in the front yard. I took the opprtunity to clean the car off while the boys played. They did so well. They played with sticks and walked around the cul-de-sac. Aedan likes to lay down and make snow angels in the road. We also make footprints...taking big steps and little steps together. I tried to get them to go for a walk around the neighborhood with me, but I had no takers on the offer. Aedan was willing...but, then said, "Will you carry me"...before we even started. Of course I can't carry him walking, so we just stayed in the yard.
OLYMPICS
It's Olympic time, and we are watching!!! So far, the boys like the skiing the best. It is always fun to see the boys act out the different events. Besides skiing, the boys have tried ice skating in the house, and speed skating (or running).

SNOW SNOW SNOW
We've gotten so much snow this winter season! Yet again...more snow arrived last night and into today. It's kind of crazy. Schools here supposedly have 13 snow days...I'm not sure how that works and is built in, but they tell me it is. (Some say they go an extra minutes each day, but they go to school at the same time that our students did in Clemson, and actually get out earlier...so I'm not so sure about that. The calendar is different...maybe that's it.) It also snowed last week. I went on a walk with the boys around the neighborhood. (not to mention...my jacket will not button up now:) Today, Ryan took the boys out on his lunch break, which I'm thankful for...I wasn't up for it today. The pictures below are of today:

I have to say that I'm ready for spring to arrive, but I can appreciate the snow. With all the school cancellations, our activities have been cancelled as well, such as weekly CBS and monthly MOPS. Three out of the last five CBS meetings have been cancelled, and MOPS has been cancelled the last two months for snow. I really, really, really, really hope that we have CBS this week. As I glance out the window right now, yes...it's snowing, so we'll see.

getting ready
The past couple of weekends we've been busy getting ready for our new addition, Mercy! Her room has definitely been transformed from boyish to girlish. It's still odd for me, but it is fun to see pink on a wall!:) I find myself asking, "Where is is, or where is that?"...baby things that we need. Like, "Where's that great mobile that Rachael gave me?, or where's the changing table pad?" I've found most of it shoved up in the closet in Mercy's room.
Since all of Aedan's clothes will move to the closets in Josiah's room, we needed more rods put it. The attachments (to put the rods on) were already there, so we just needed to get rods that actually fit and that would stay put. The ones that were there, continually fell off, which was very annoying when all of the hung clothes would slide off and fall to the ground. Here's Ryan cutting the rods:)
finished rod! I'm grateful for the two big closets that are in the boys' room. They are perfect!
Here's a picture of the curtains, on the lime green wall...next to the bumper that will go in the crib.
Ryan: the expert line taper:)
taped and painted...waiting to dry!
Finished wall on the closet side of the room
Yay! Josiah pointing to the pink stripe!
I got this dresser while in Clemson, and had painted it to match...the greens still look great in the room, but the blue knobs were a little out of place. We found pink knobs that matched at Lowes for 75 cents each! We still need to get washers to attach to the back to make them fit better, but you can see how it should look from this picture:)
