Josiah's first movie

Josiah and I had a date night last night. I took him to see his first movie, 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.' It was the perfect movie for him...for obvious reasons. I originally thought that I wouldn't be able to take him to see it because I thought it was only showing in 3D. I was mistaken! It is also offered in 2D. We used some gift certificates that were given to us at Christmas, so we only paid a quarter to see it:) Josiah did really well. Some of the time he sat in the chair next to me, and some of the time he sat on my lap. There were only a couple times that I had to tell him to talk softer. He had a couple of outbursts (red-claw....red-claw!!!!!) (a pterodactyl....a pterodactyl!!!!!!), but overall he did awesome, and loved it!

While we were at the movie, Ryan took Aedan to Chick-fil-a for dinner, and then to the church playground to play. We hope to do this more often where we can give them each individual attention. Great night!:)

Family Pool Time

We went to the pool today to swim! yay!

A little frog got stuck in the pool. Josiah had fun watching him before Ryan rescued him out of the pool.

snack time!

Aedan has been in a mood this week. His bottom two pointy teeth are coming in right now so I think that's why he's been more irritable. He doesn't like wearing his floaties so we made him just sit until he was ready to put them on. He sat for about 15 minutes and then was ready. After that, he was fine and had a great time.

Date Night

Last night Ryan and I headed to Nashville to see Sandra McCracken. It has been so long since we have seen her in concert. We saw her open for Derek about two years ago...since we last saw her she has had two babies. The show was very easy to find (thankfully). It reminded me a lot of the place we used to always go to see her play in Decatur, GA, Eddie's Attic. The show was a release show for her new Live Album. She played straight through the album, which was awesome because there are so many great songs on it. Of course, we had our front row (well, at a table) seats, and enjoyed it a ton! I was able to talk with her afterwards, too:) Below is a video of she and Derek playing when they recorded the album.

My pterodactyls

Ever since Aedan's accident of face planting on the end table, I've been encouraging the boys to be flyers on the floor. They put pillows down and pretend to be flyers. It really is cute to see even though the pillows all over the floor drive me crazy at times:

Aedan: a great flyer

Josiah: a great flyer

Happy 4th!

We had a pretty low key 4th of July this year. We finally got a grill, so we cooked up some chicken and veggies for dinner. In the morning we went over to the train depot in town to let the boys play on the trains. They both love it, and once again...it's free:)

Pool Time with the Lowhorns

On Friday night, we went to the pool with Daniel, Rachael, and their kids. We ate some yummy Daniel hamburgers and swam with the kids.

Josiah finally discovered that he would float!

Burgess Falls Visit

Last Thursday we headed to Burgess Falls (again). It's a great walk for the boys, and they also have a great playground...and of course, it's free!

On our way to the falls, we saw a big spider. Ryan is holding Aedan back because he is likely to go pick it up!
