John's hot music!

My cousin, John, who lives out in Los Angeles, is a part of the duo LA Riots. Payless Shoes has a new commercial out with the remix of his song, Jupiter One. (John wrote the music for the song!) :) I have such a talented family!!! I'm sure John will appreciate the publicity he's getting from my blog...little does he know that it has thousands of subscribers, right?! Below is the commercial from You Tube, and LA Riots' myspace link.

Here's a video of Josiah dancing to LA Riots...in a few years he'll be ready for tour as a dancer...hip hop/break dancer, of course!

Shanty Ale

One of my uncles recently found out that my grandfather (mom's dad) has a beer named after his aircraft that he flew in World War II. My grandfather, Lt. Gilbert O'Brien was a fighter Ace and flew a P-51B Mustang that he named "Shanty Irish." Below are links to a couple articles. Warbird is sponsering a 5K and 10K road race this May in Indiana. My mom and some of her siblings plan to attend...GO O'BRIENS!:)

Walgreens diaper deal!

Diapers and pullups: all this for $22.41! That's about $5.60 each...great deal!!!
I attempted my first Walgreens deal today. Walgreens had a special that if you spend $25.00 of Huggies products (each on sale for $10.00), you get $10.00 in Register Rewards (like ECBs in CVS). I had some great coupons for $5.00 off huggies. I used two of those coupons and then a $1.50 off pull ups coupon. When I checked out, I got $10 in Register Rewards. Next, for my second transaction, I got the Nighttime pullups. I used the rewards, and only had to pay the tax. The Nighttime pullups were a great deal...usually then run a little more then regular pullups, and I have yet to find a coupon for them. I'm not sure how much I'll shop at Walgreens...it's on the other side of town, so we'll see!

Awesome CVSing (March 8th)

I got all this for $11.41!!!! YAY!!!!! I also got back $7.00 in ECBs to use next time!!!
Today was a GREAT day at CVS! I found some awesome deals! Here's what I did:
1st transaction: I bought the shampoos and conditioners, and also the crest toothpaste and vasaline lotion. I had two $3.00 coupons for the shampoos/conditioners, a $1.00 coupon for the vasaline lotion, and also a $1.00 coupon for the toothpaste. I also had $5.00 in ECBs from my last visit. So, I ended up paying $6.49 for the 1st transaction. From this, I got back $8.00 in ECBs.
2nd transaction: I bought the three cereals (3 for $10). I also bought the wipes and the dishsoap. I used a $2.00 coupon for the wipes, and a $1.00 coupon for the cereals. I then used my ECBs from my previous transction. I ended up paying $4.92 for this transaction, and got $7.00 back in ECBs.
What a DEAL! CVSing is my new hobby!:)

Playground fun

This past weekend, on both Friday and Saturday, Ryan and I took the boys out to the playground in Algood. Since we've moved, it is even closer to our house now. However, sometimes I avoid this playground on the weekdays since the daycare children at Trinity uses it in the mornings...lots of children...not so many adults! Our county had Friday and Monday (tomorrow) off from school due to illness, meaning that LOTS of kids have the flu, etc. (Which means that the daycare was more then likely not open, too.) It's kind of odd to me (to cancel school for sickness), but apparently it happens here. Here are some playground pictures:)

Kidstuf!

We just finished up our third semester of Kidstuf. Kidstuf is a worship service for children and their parents. Our church does it on Sunday nights. There are many aspects to kidstuf...music/singing, intro skit, drama, video, and "The Word" (the talk that Ryan usually gives...and sometimes Justin). Kidstuf focuses around a monthly virtue, such as love, fairness, perserverance, gratitiude, kindness. The kids are asked to learn a Bible verse that goes along with each virtue. Even though it's a lot of work (and adds stress to Ryan's work), I really do enjoy it and am little sad when it ends. I know that August will come soon enough, and we'll be getting ready to start again before I know it. I look forward to Josiah being able to come to Kidstuf...hopefully in the fall he'll be able to handle it. We tried once earlier this semester, and he didn't do so well. Here are some pictures:

Here are the Kidstuf dancers!! Tera and I make up the dance moves and hand motions together, and then teach the girls in the youth group.

Here are our sound guys.

Ryan and BJ doing the intro skit together.

Here are just some of our many actors. The actors and actresses rotate turns acting.

I love our Kidstuf stage! I think it looks awesome! I love the couch and other decorations!! Nice frig in the back next to Evan. If you open the frig, you'll see the monthly Bible verse. If you open the picture behind Kayla, you'll see the monthly virtue and its definition.

CVS Deals March 1-7

I got this for $15.53...not the greatest of deals, but still cheaper then what I'd normally pay.

Today, I went to CVS at the beginning of their sale week, so everything would be in stock that I had planned to get. Last week I made the mistake of going on Tuesday to get some deals (like 13 cent toothpaste), but when I went they were all out of everything!! I was even going to make some money, too...oh, well. Pampers are on sale this week, and when you spend $20, you get $5 back in ECBs. I normally use Huggies brand stuff, but decided to go ahead and get some diapers, since it was a good deal. The carnation mixes and the ACT mouthwash were free after ECBs (ex. carnation cost $4.99, and you get back $4.99 in ECBs). Here's what I did:
First Transaction:
I bought the Carnation breakfast and also the mouthwash. The breakfast was $4.99 and the mouthwash was $.99. I paid with $4.00 in ECBs and $2.14 cash. I got $4.99 and $.99 back in ECBs.
Second Transaction:
I bought the diapers...each were $10.00. I used two $1.00 coupons and then my ECBs from my previous transaction. I paid $13.39 cash after that. Then, I got $5.00 in ECBs back to use next time!:)
Shopping at CVS really is fun. It's fun to get good deals and FREE stuff!
